Checkmate first appeared in 2014 as a contestant on Season 3 of 'JDW New Blood'. However he was unsuccessful at securing a contract. He would tryout again during Season 4 but just fell short on points to Darren Styles. Checkmate would return 2 years later during the 2K17 Season of JDW Performance.
