Smirnoff's first appearance was as a rookie near the end of the HCTP season. He made his official EWA debutin 2011 as part of William Regal's 'Coalition' faction after Regal denounced his british citizenship and defected to Russia.
He wasted no time in making his power felt, by capturing the EWA Tag Team titles from the 'Beer Invasion' within weeks. Smirnoff would stay with the coalition for the next 2 years until it finally disbanded in 2012.
Smirnoff remained as a key member of the EWA roster until the 2K14 season, but was released at the end of the year alongside 'Ivan' due to creative differences.
in 2o15, he was approached by 'JD Williams' and offered a slot on the Fourth season of'JDW New Blood'.
Last year, it was rumoured that 'Triple H' was interested in signing Smirnoff to an NXT contract, but nothing ever came of this.
